“Make PAK have a long-lasting impression in the collective memory of targets in car”
- What were the objectives of this meeting in Bangui?
The main objectives of the joint meeting of Bangui were to assess the level of implementation the mutual commitments made as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 26 February 2019 and which focusses among other things on promoting and facilitating transit (from the Port of Kribi) of goods from or to CAR.
It was therefore necessary, a year after, to carry out a comprehensive and thorough assessment of the agreement, identify potential bottlenecks and finally decide on the way forward to fully increase the performance of goods transport to the Central African Republic going through the Port of Kribi. It is worth specifying that these meetings between PAK and CCAC included other stakeholders involved in transit transportation between Cameroon and CAR. This was the occasion to develop a revised roadmap that has been submitted for approval to the General Managers of PAK and CCAC.
- What legitimate benefits can PAK expect from this meeting?
First, reinforcing the strategic position of its port with CAR transit transport operators. Then, expecting an increase of PAK’s turnover. In a nutshell, we expect to gain new market shares and to increase PAK’s turnover.
- What are the prospects as concerns the Memorandum of Understanding and PAK in general?
The revised roadmap shows PAK marketing missions in CAR. According to the joint expert committee, it is a decisive action that will make PAK have a long-lasting impression in the collective memory of targets in CAR.
